Charlottesville, Virginia, November 28, 2011 – – Casa Vinicola Zonin announces its ongoing dedication to the MAGIS project and the use of sustainable development techniques.

Casa Vinicola Zonin, together with other eight partners – among which are UIV (The Italian Wine Union), Assoenologi (The Association of Italian Enology), the Universities of Turin, Florence, Bari and Milan – will represent the core of this project.

Magis is an innovative viticulture project aiming to improve and modernize vineyard management in Italy. Its mission is to create well defined sustainable practices based on environmental and enological issues in order to produce healthy and high quality grapes. One of the leading motivations is that of making wine in a more sensible way through integrity in the agricultural performance.

This project will be applied to each Casa Vinicola Zonin estate through various initiatives: giving priority to the use of natural regulation mechanisms, improving air quality through CO2 fixation, preserving soil fertility, and increasing biodiversity (represented by native species).

“We decided to turn into sustainable development because it ‘satisfies today’s needs, without compromising those that next generations will have in the future’ (Brundtland, 1987)”, said Gianni Zonin, President of Casa Vinicola Zonin.

Through the use of state of the art technology and by leveraging the myriad of skills, which the above-mentioned entities offer, Casa Vinicola Zonin and Magis are working towards more sustainable future. Casa Vinicola Zonin was the only Italian winery present during the “Wineries for Climate Protection Conference 2011”.

Casa Vinicola Zonin, Italy’s largest privately held wine company, is one of the most popular imported brands in the United States. The company owns 11 wine estates and is present in more than 109 countries.

Casa Vinicola Zonin USA is Donating $ 100,000 to the National Wildlife Federation to Continue Preserving the Gulf Coast

Casa Vinicola Zonin USA has been helping with fundraising for the Gulf Coast preservation. On Wednesday May 18, 2011, Zonin USA will present a check to the National Wildlife Federation in the amount of $100,000. The ceremony will take place at the NWF’s corporate offices in Reston, VA

Charlottesville, Virginia, May 11, 2011 – – The Gulf of Mexico’s oil spill represented an unprecedented environmental tragedy not seen before. As a response to this terrible crisis situation, Casa Vinicola Zonin – the largest privately held Italian wine producer – decided to partner with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) to help raise money for the preservation of the gulf’s flora and fauna.

The oil spill began on April 20th, 2010 with the explosion on a drilling rig. Since then, oil had been pouring at about 210,000 gallons/day before it was capped. This disaster has negatively impacted the entire Gulf Coast region and the cleanup is expected to take years to fully recover.

The National Wildlife Federation – America’s largest conservation organization – immediately called on the public to help save wildlife and it is dedicating all its efforts to this cause. NWF works with more than four million members and supporters in communities across the country to protect and restore wildlife habitat and connect with nature.

Through the above-mentioned partnership, with each purchase of Zonin wines, Zonin USA hasmade a generous donation to the National Wildlife Federation Oil Spill Fund to continue their work to protect the Gulf Coast wildlife, habitat and communities. Casa Vinicola Zonin is perfectly in line with NWF’s mission of “inspiring Americans to protect wildlife for our children’s future” and has always showed a great sense of giving back to the community.

“It’s a privilege to be a part of something that can make such a positive impact. We want to help bring life back to nature for the next generation”, said Francesco Zonin, Vice President of Casa Vinicola Zonin USA. “We believe our contribution to the NWF will offer direct support to reestablishing wildlife in the Gulf Region.”

The Zonin family has always been heavily involved in community programs and cares about preservation of nature. On Wednesday May 18, 2011, Zonin USA will present a check to the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) in the amount of $100,000. The ceremony will take place at the NWF’s corporate offices in Reston, VA. Casa Vinicola Zonin USA stands by its mission, which is preserving the environment for future generations to enjoy.
