Casa Vinicola Zonin USA Wins Two Double Gold, Silver, and Two Bronze Medals at the San Francisco International Wine Competition
Miami, Florida, June 25,2012- – Casa Vinicola Zonin USA, Inc. is thrilled to announce a huge win at the San Francisco Wine Competition, held at the Hotel Nikko in downtown San Francisco, June 15-17.
Casa Vinicola Zonin USA, Inc. takes home total of five medals. Double Gold Medal went to Castello Del Poggio 2011 Moscato D’Asti, DOCG, and Castello D’Albola 2008 Chianti Classico, DOCG. Principi di Butera 2010 Nero d’Avola, IGT wins a Silver Medal. Lastly, Bronze Medals go to Principi di Butera 2011 Insolia, IGT and Tenuta Ca’ Bolani 2011 Pinot Grigio, DOC.
- Double Gold Medal- Castello del Poggio 2011 Moscato D’Asti, DOCG “beautifully fragrant with ripe tangerine, vanilla cream, lemon curd and sweet white flower. The finish leaves a lasting impression of candied hazelnut and marzipan. – A perfect summer sipper along with desserts or as an aperitif.”
- Double Gold Medal- Castello D’Albola 2008 Chianti Classico, DOCG “The nose shows strawberry and other red fruits with notes of sage, spice cake and subtle earth. The San Francisco competition is the largest and most influential international wine competition in the United States. A panel of nationally recognized wine experts came together for the two-day affair. Judging is based on a blind and consensual procedure in order to retain its integrity as America’s most respected wine competition.
More than 4,500 wines were judged this year from 29 countries and 26 states– the largest competition in the 32- year history. A listing of the top medals awarded will be featured in the August issue of The Tasting Panel Magazine. Best of Show and Double Gold medal winners will be invited to participate in a 13-city tour sponsored by The Tasting Panel Magazine.
